Newsflash - Wednesday 24th May, 2007
Hi folks! I'd love you to come along to the Cooks River Motor Boat Club, Sunday 8th July to celebrate my birthday! I've thrown a band together and have invited special guests to play too. Should be a hoot! It's free to get in and there's a free B.B.Q. Cheap drinks at the bar and a great view, what more could you ask for. Go to myspace.com/kittyadamsmusic to see what I've been up to. There's some great links there too. Chow for now! Kitty. Newsletter - Wednesday 24th May, 2007 Hi folks, recently my good friend Helen helped me to open a my space music site. Featured are three songs I recorded with The Alley Cats at the SAE college ( Mustering, Way Back When and Just Only Love.) There is also a slide show of gig photos, an extensive bio and gig guide. The amazing thing is the networking you can do through finding my space friends anywhere in the world. My first friend was a songwriter Cowboy from Nashville! Hot Dang. There's other bands and duos you can check out too. I've got a few live gigs coming up. Check the gig guide page and don't forget to bring your friends! I'd like to mention what a wonderful job Dave Hibbert did organizing the Andy Baylor gig last week. A big thank you to Vicki and the Staff at the Cooks River Motor Boat Club. The Club had a full house very early in the evening . The band played beautifully and the crowd had a wonderful time on the dance floor. Incidently, I won a CD for my boogie dancing ! Well that's all for now, keep on supporting live music! Kitty Adams. PS: Click here for the gig guide. Newsletter - Wednesday 29th September, 2006 Howdee folks! Well I'm back on board after some disasterous events on the home front. Great material for songwriting let me tell you! I've been listening to some old time country hillbilly tunes and have been inspired to round up a band for next year. My ultimate goal is to record (yes, I know I keep promising that) and save up to go to the states. You never know ! Anyway, the good news is the Cooks River Motor Boat Club, (Tempe), is proving to be a popular venue for country music every second Sunday and every second Friday. It's free to get in, they feed you and the drinks are dirt cheap ! You can even take your rug rats too! See this CRMBC Gig Guide or look up the Tamworth Rage Page for more details for the Sydney area. Currently I'm on a health kick, those Lansdowne photos gave me an awful fright! Stay tuned !! Kitty. Newsletter - Wednesday 6th September, 2006 Hi folks, Just a quick note to say thank you to everyone for supporting Kitty and the Alley Cats for the last three years. A live DVD is available. It features seven songs filmed at the Town & Country Hotel and the Cooks River Motor Boat Club. If you wish to purchase a copy for your collection, send a money order for $15 to 141 Riverview Rd, Earlwood, NSW 2206, Australia. Again I'd like to thank the band - Roy Payne, Mark Thomas, Paul Hayward and Dave Hibbert were a treasure to work with. A big thankyou to Dave Hibbert for all his help including driving and loading his van to gigs and giving the band an enthusiastic rhythm section. Keep your eye out for the boys. Roy's still playing with Satellite Five, Fat Dusty, Chickenhead and session playing with many bands including the Shoothroughs. Mark Thomas is about to hit the road with John Williamson. Paul Hayward is still playing with the Baddies, Motorhank and other lineups and Dave Hibbert is playing with Travis Collins and many more top country acts. Dave is still booking gigs at the Cooks River Motor Boat club so check out your local gig guides for that one. I'm please to announce my engagement to a wonderful man from Canberra. Gotta love those country lads! At present I am in between bands. Watch this space because I'll have another line-up up and running in the not too distant future. Toorah for now and thanks again for all your support! Kitty Newsletter - Monday 24th July, 2006 Hi folks, how are we all ? Long time between drinks!! Well, I've been very busy over the last few months writing and recording my songs on my new digital studio. Winter is indeed a good time of year to hibernate indoors and play music. This year I have decided to concentrate on my original works and I have embarked on playing acoustic support acts for bands. After three years, I have decided to fold Kitty and The Alley cats. It has been a lot of fun. Thank you for all your support. My original guitarist, Big Daddy Roy Payne has been on tour with Don Walker and has his own musical projects going. I'd just like to say that it was a pleasure to have him playing guitar in my band for nearly three years and a big thank you to him. He's a very talented musician. Dave Hibbert left the band a few months ago due to other commitments. He is now booking the Cooks River Motor Boat Club which I got started last year and the ironic thing is I can't get a gig there this year. Life's funny isn't it ? I'd like to keep working with Mark Thomas and Paul Hayward who are also indeed very accomplished musicians and a big thank you to them too. I'm embarking to make a few changes to this site, time permitting so stay tuned !! My next gig is with Phil Spiller at the Lansdowne Hotel, Sun 6th August from 5.30pm. Bring your friends !!! Till next time, toorah !! Kitty Adams |
