Kitty and The Alley Cats   Newsletter - Monday 13th February, 2006

Hi everyone, I trust you had a wonderful silly season! I certainly did!

We're back into the swing of things with more dates coming up. Yesterday we were back at the Coopers Arms Hotel, Newtown from 5pm to 8pm. It's one of my favourite venues being a typical aussie pub right on King Street.

This coming weekend we will be at the Gladstone Hotel, Dulwich Hill, Sat 25th Feb, 8pm onwards. I'd like to get bums on seats for that one (gotta impress the booking agent!).

I have special guests joining me. Danielle will be singing backing vocals for a few tunes. There's nothing like female harmonies!

Greg Mitchell will be joining us on bass as our regular bass player, Paul Hayward, has other commitments. Greg sings a fantastic version of "King of the road".

My drummer, Dave is getting married ! He will be celebrating his engagement to his fiance, Vicki on the 4th March at the Cooks River Motor Boat Club. We will be playing that one of course!

Then on 8th April we will be heading to North Sydney to play at Club Berowra. I guess you gotta get out of the inner west sometime!

I'm chasing gigs at the moment. If you or any of your friends are having a party or function please contact me at adamskitty@hotmail.com.

Don't forget to check out the Cooks River Motor Boat Club. Details are on this site. The Murray Hillbillies played last weekend, and Rob Luckey & The Lucky Bastards will be on in a couple of weeks. Come to the Boat Club and buy their new CD. Any enquiries or bookings for the club go through Dave : 0401 136 550.

One last thing, whatever you do, don't fall for any emails from Nigeria. It's a prank! I received one asking for any music / promotional material from my band. Last month they told me I had inherited thousands and they were after my account details!

Anyway,

Take care ya'll !!

Kitty Adams.

Howdee folks! Well the silly season is upon us! Wishing you all a very merry xmas and a happy new year ! Remember to keep those beroccas handy.

I'm heading north on Friday, back to my hometown of beautiful Bellingen. If you are ever passing through that way I recommend the Cool Creek Cafe, Church Street, Bello. It is also a fantastic independent venue run by my very close friends, Annie & Shelly.

The band is taking a much deserved break over Chrissy and the new year. And some new material is in the pipeline. I'm taking my guitar away as I find the peace & quiet of the country inspiring for songwriting. I'm in the process of writing three songs which I hope to finish. Next year I will be bringing more original tunes into the set and late Feb or early March we'll be embarking on recording a CD like I promised last year. My, time slips away !!

For those of you heading to Tamworth look up the Tamworth Ragepage website. It has the best gig guide. I'm hoping to get there next time with a CD under my belt and gigs I hope. Things have been too hectic to book in for next year.

Check out our gig guide page for next year's gigs and of course the new country venue in town, the Cooks River Motor Boat Club. Free entry, free BBQ supper, cheap drinks and quality music ! You can't go wrong. Don't forget, kids can go so families are more than welcome.

Thankyou for all your support this year . Catch you in 2006!

Cheers, Kitty Adams.

Thanks to all for coming along to the Cooks River Motor Boat Club last Friday night.

A special thanks to Greg Mitchell for filling in on bass. Our resident bass player Paul Hayward played guitar as Big Daddy Roy was playing guitar with another band that night. A big thankyou to Mark Thomas who has added a great feel to the band on pedal steel since he joined nearly a year ago.

And of course I can't forget my drummer, Dave Hibbert who has worked very hard to get the Cooks River Motor Boat club off the ground as a venue. There are some great acts coming up at the Club so get on down and check it out!! You can't go wrong with free entry, free meal and cheap drinks!!

We have a lot of gigs coming up around Sydney (check the gig guide). Spread the word!

Interestingly enough someone commented on my vocal abilities the other night and how I had improved. Well that's mighty flattering !!

We have had a few line up changes, repertoire changes and hell of a lot of gigs since we started nearly three years ago so that might explain it. Infact I plan to update the bio section or this website soon because I have been singing professionally for eighteen years, touring, recording, festivals, etc way before I moved to Sydney and started playing around Newtown.

I'd like people to know my musical background.

Next year I plan to finally record a CD. It's long overdue. I'll get an MP3 on the site so you can have a listen when it's finished. Look out for it in February or March.

I hope you all have a very Merry Xmas and a happy New Year!! Thanks for supporting Kitty & The Alley Cats,

Kitty.

HOWDEE!

This Saturdays's gig at the Town & Country Hotel has been cancelled.

The pub that Slim sang a song about has changed ownership and it does not have an entertainment licence any more.

Our residency there was a lot of fun and a big thank-you to everyone who came along. I'll keep in touch about future gigs.

We have a new alley cat band member to introduce real soon . Tony (Crome Daddies) will be joining us on double bass!!

Tonight (27/1/205) we are recording in Surry Hills and I'll soon have my hands on a mix down of a live recording at the Town & Country.

Thanks for your support and we'll see you soon.

Kitty .

Howdee Folks! I hope You had a wonderful xmas and a Happy New Year.

The band has taken a short break over the festive season but have no fear , we will be back in full swing before you know it!

We've had a bit of bad luck with a booking agent (doesn't everybody?) so I've started booking the band myself again. If there is anyone out there who would like to manage/book our band, I would be only too happy to hand over the reins so I can just play music!!!

Our next gig is at the Town & Country (St Peters) , Sat January 29th, 7-10pm. I'm getting in special guests again so stay tuned for an update.

A mix down of a recent live recording is almost finished so keep your eye out for that one!!

Thanks for your support!

Kitty.
